DS the Wizard of Oz Cheats

"The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road" is a role-playing game based on the classic L. Frank Baum novel. Learning how to handle combat and black ghosts, and where to go when things get rough, give Dorothy and friends a better chance at success.

  1. Basic Tips

    • Unlike many role-playing games, your spells and skills are usable only in combat. Take care of healing during battles to be prepared for the next one. When you don't have enough health or items to recover, use the Witch Gate to escape the stage and regain your life. Take this opportunity to save your game as well. If a party is defeated, they will return to the Castle of Oz and continue from there. Save your game often, especially before big battles to avoid being sent back to the Castle.

    Battle Suggestions

    • The Wizard of Oz offers advice on which characters and items you may want to use in combat situations. There is no need to follow this advice, and at times it is beneficial to make your own decisions based on what you're facing and the condition of your party. Don't let the computer make all of your choices. Be aware of what's going on and use these tips as general guidance rather than orders.

    Ghosts

    • Black ghosts appear at random times and places throughout the game. They are passive and don't attack the party. Ghosts are extremely powerful enemies. Even high level and powerful parties are ill-equipped to deal with them, and will be wiped out in a few short rounds. Avoid these creatures and simply walk past them whether you are just starting out or deep into the game.

    Skills

    • Obtaining skills as quickly as possible helps build party momentum. When your party reaches level 8 or so, travel to the Budding Highlands and confront Father Dragon to receive your first skills. The "Strawman's Plunder" skill is an excellent substitute for recovery items, and allows you to save money and keep revival and health items for the harder battles and boss monsters.

    Elemental Spirits

    • Make a note of inaccessible areas as you travel through Oz. After you acquire elemental spirits, you are able to use them to break down the barriers and explore what lies beyond. Each spirit brings down a certain type of barrier. For example, the Earth spirit brings down walls.

    More coins

    • Role-playing games often start you with a decided lack of finances. There's nothing worse than seeing that brand new shiny sword and realizing you can't afford it. The Hungry Wolf in the Budding Highlands and the Big Boar in Cherry Blossom Way are good monsters to help fill the purses of beginning adventurers. Seek them out and do battle
